Turn Signals not working

 I have a 2001 Altima and my turn signals have recently stopped working most of the time. When I turn them on they will sometimes give a few blinks and then stop completly, and the blinks are too close together. I was told to by a new flasher, but I can't figure out where it goes! If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated!!!

 not sure on your car but mines in the steering column... replaced indicator flasher on the multi-function switch...
